Attention New Dealers: Here are a few tips you might find helpful. These tips are from dealers who have set up here in the Fiddlers Inn before, and are only provided to help you.
· Your promoter’s name is Scott Jenkins. His phone number is: (615) 686-8202. His email is: emersonevents@yahoo.com. This is a dealer friendly show so please feel free to call with questions, comments and suggestions! Check into the show office as soon as you arrive at the Fiddler’s Inn from 12pm to 5pm.
· Porters: We have porters that will be available to help you. When you check in, leave your name and room number and we will send them to help you. Please do not use anyone that is not a registered porter with the show.
· Note that Nashville is on Central Time, so it is an hour behind Eastern Time, if you come from that locale
· Tennessee Sales Tax is 9.25%.
· Tennessee Dept of Revenue will be on the grounds Saturday, collecting sales tax from Dealers. It is a simple form. There is a $500.00 fine if you do not report and pay sales tax, even if you fill it out as zero with no taxes collected.
· Stacking hotel room furniture to make a room display: Hotel furniture and décor must not be removed from the room. There are many ways to accomplish this: Some dealers place mattresses and box springs around walls and sleep on an inflatable mattress the floor, while others stack all box springs and mattresses in a corner to sleep on (then place a screen around them, or simply cover the bed and use it to display merchandise on). It is easy to incorporate much of the hotel furniture into your display. For example, many dealers cover the credenza with a table cover, quilt or coverlet, then use it as a “table” for display cases or merchandise. To create more room you can also stand it on end.
· Alternatively, some dealers rent a second room, just for sleeping. If you want to do this, call the promoter, Scott Jenkins, to book an extra room @ (615) 686-8202.
· Bring shears, curtains, a textile, and an adjustable curtain rod, or screen. This will allow you to block off the restroom and vanity area.
· Bring clip-on lights, and many extension cords, to focus light all over your room
· Bring a small toolbox.
· Bring pegboard walls, tables and display cases OR you can order walls, tables and/or display cases from Doug Supringer, at (937) 875-0808.
· Bring a sign for your front door, with your business name on it, with Fun-Tak or magnets on the back, so that customers can easily find your room again.
· Bring tarps and clips to cover merchandise in parking lot space, during the night, or in case of rain.
· Local restaurants include a Cracker Barrel within 200 feet of the hotel, Caney Fork Fish Camp Restaurant, Scoreboard, Appleby’s and a host of restaurants at the Opryland Mall, and many others within a short driving distance.
· Entertainment within walking distance includes Earnest Tubb’s music hall. Also, there is a large movie theater at the Opryland Mall, as well as the Grand Ole Opry. Don’t forget to visit the Heart of Country Antique show at the Opryland Hotel (ride the trolley free from the Radisson Hotel).
· Free Opryland trolley to Opryland Mall, theaters, Grand Old Opry, Heart of Country Antique Show, all of which are just a mile away.
Dealers must not park anywhere else except the dealer lot. This rule must be strictly adhered to; ask any staff member and they will point it out to you.
